Foundation Focus

Delta Gamma Volunteer HoursWhen our three Founders created the Delta Gamma Club, their focus was mutual respect, friendship, and development of character and intellect. Toward that purpose they selected the motto "do good." For Anna Boyd Ellington, Eva Webb Dodd and Mary Comfort Leonard the motto was more than a dream; it was a way of life.

This legacy continues to be an integral part of the lives of Delta Gammas who begin by supporting service projects during their college years and continue to choose helping others throughout their lives.

Sacramento Delta Gammas must work diligently by becoming involved and giving back to the community through the investment of time and resources. This will ensure the future support of individuals in need and our beloved Sacramento Area.

By volunteering a few hours of your time a year, you may witness the smiles of children, that until the Society for the Blind’s Blind Olympics, had never felt the thrill of running. You may feel the warmth in your heart when you are able to bring holiday cheer to an elderly woman at a local convalescent home whom may have not seen a visitor in months. You may get the feeling of complete fulfillment when you serve the less fortunate a hot, holiday meal.

These are just a few things that Sacramento Delta Gammas do every year. These women may volunteer as part of our local group, or on their own accord. Either way, they are living up to the expectation set out for each of us by our Founders all of those years ago. Times have certainly changed, but the core-value of Delta Gamma has not. It is our mission to “do good” in any way that we can, each and every day.

I know your time is precious. If you can not find time to volunteer, by financially supporting our local philanthropic efforts, you can help us to better serve others in need. Either through the Delta Gamma Foundation, or our own local endeavors like Sacramento Society for the Blind.

Please contact Whitney Chamberlain atwcchamberlain@gmail.com for more information or if you are interested in volunteering.

Keep In Touch

What's the best way to stay in touch, be sure you're getting emails, evites and updates? Be sure you're information is updated at www.DeltaGamma.org. Please contact our VP Membership Kelsey at sacdgbabe@yahoo.com if you have any questions or concerns.

We Need Your Support

Why pay your dues? Each of us agreed at Initiation to pay annual dues to the Fraternity for our first 50 years of membership. Alumnae and collegiate dues and fees are the only support to our Fraternity, which is a separate entity from the Foundation.

Remember, membership in Delta Gamma is for a lifetime, so please take a moment and pay your dues. Thank you for your support.

Hosts and Homes

Hosts and homes. For each event we need a place to hold it, and a host. We always appreciate DGs opening their homes to us. To make it easier on you, we have a host for each event. The host coordinates the little things (plates, napkins, etc). Don't worry - the big stuff is taken care of by our VP Programming. If you are interested in offering your home please contact our VP Programming at vanescafe@comcast.net.
